Specifics of Leading of Intercultural IT Company in Brno

The World is becoming global and also the companies. They are expanding their business outside the current location. This trend brings new challenges to the top management and to line managers to be able lead not just people with same culture, but also lead and cooperate with reportees from different cultures. Leaders need to be able to lead teams consisted from people of various gender, religion, age, sexual orientation or color. Managers need to be aware of those specifics in order to use full potential of whole team. The aim of this diploma thesis is to analyze those specifics of leading of intercultural IT company based on semi-structured interviews with expats, free associations, analysis of company documents and guided discussion and design methods and recommendations to be able to lead intercultural teams more effectively, mainly in IT field.
The Use of New Knowledge about Generation Y for Their Inclusion into Business Practice

Dissertation deals with Generation Y and its position in the corporate environment and in the labor market. The selected issue is very topical because of increasing structural and cyclical unemployment among young people. In preparing the dissertation, we departed from theoretical findings acquired by studying Czech and foreign monographs, articles published in journals, other electronic resources and, most importantly, primary research conducted. The main objective of the dissertation to gain new knowledge about Generation Y, which would lead to a more effective inclusion of young people (especially graduates) into practice with the use of new management methods in the adaptation and stabilization of a young employee in the job, with focus on future employees with economic expertise. In order to achieve the main objective, 4 sub-objectives and 4 research questions with relevant hypotheses were set. Based on an analysis of the theoretical basis and secondary data, a schema of adaptation and stabilization of a young employee was created. The primary research conducted then combines quantitative and qualitative approaches for the analysis and description of each part. The research results are presented in the form of partial conclusions characterizing each area as well as in the form of a summarizing conclusion placed in a broader context in a comparison with the determined state of current scientific knowledge. The dissertation includes contributions to science and research, business practice and teaching as well as a proposal of continuation of research activities.
The Proposal for Optimalisation of HR Management of a Company

The main part is created by suggestions for improvement, whose aim is efficiency increasing of implemented personal activities. The outputs of this thesis will help the staff department facilitate the work and improve the overall human resources management.
Applying Diversity Management Concept in the Field of Human Resource Management

The presented Ph.D. thesis deals with the topic of Diversity management and its application into the area of Human Resourse Management. The main goal of the thesis is to survey the impact of diversity on the effective team operation in selected organizations in the Czech Republic. The aim of the thesis is thus to identify factors that influence the team effectiveness.The investigated teams operate in selected companies in the Czech Republic The Ph.D. thesis is divided into two parts: the theoretical part and the empirical part. The aim of the theoretical part is to provide a summary of personnel work in organizations with a focus on Human Resource Management at organizational and team´s level. Modern trends are also introduced: diversity management, talent management etc.The second part of the theoretical part is dedicated to diversity and diversity management, diversity classification, the structure of diversity management, functioning in teams, diverse teams and measuring the influence of diversity on team effectiveness. In the end of the theoretical part a summary of key research results is presented. A dictionary of key terms is also created as a part the presented thesis. In the empirical part an analysis of the research results gained by making pilot researches and main research are presented.The research was focused on studying the effectiveness of diverse teams in organizations mainly from the following sectors: Finance a Insurance, IT, Information and communication and Education. The research sample in the main research consisted of 98 team leaders.The gathered data were processed using descriptive and explorative statistics (nonparametric tests: Spearman's rank correlation coefficient, the Mann – Whitney U test and The Kruskal – Wallis Test). A qualitative analysis was used in the analysis of chosen items.The main results of the research is the following: 1.a slightly positive correlation was detected between gender diversity and handling project or work deadlines. 2.a positive correlation was found between informational diversity and goals or specific task/assignment achievement. 3. a slightly positive correlation was detected between the informational diversity and handling project or work deadlines. In teams with a focus on Human Resource Management a middle level of gender diversity was found, whereas in project teams the informational diversity is on a high level. Marketing teams have a lower level of information diversity. The same results is for teams with a focus on Management of academic projects/programs. No relationship was detected between the team effectiveness and the team size. The same negative results were found for the organizational size and the rate of occurence of age, gender or informational diversity.The qualitative analysis concluded that age diversity is linked with a situation of mixing different perspectives and experience in teams; gender diversity could have a positive influence on socio – psychological dynamics in a team and be efficient for client management. Informational diversity was mentioned as a factor of improving the problem-solving process and project effectiveness. Respondents were asked to define the traits/factors of a high – performing teams. Proportions in gender: 50:50, proportional representation of experienced and not so experienced peers in teams. The role of the manager is to unite the team, to support team members´potential, team cooperation with a goal to fulfil the task.
Proposal of Effective Diversity Management in Selected Companies

The aim of the thesis is to propose measures for the effective application of diversity management which will lead to improvements in the working environment and to enhance the performance of the company. The first part summarizes the current knowledge about the diverse composition of employees in companies. To solve the research task will be use a number of research methods, especially the questionnaire, semi-structured interviews and document analysis.
The Proposal of Work-life Balance in Selected Company

This diploma thesis deals with an actual issue of work-life balance. The theoretical part covers a development approach of private organizations to the topic. The practices of work-life balance are described in detail. The practical part analyses a current state of selected company using quantitative and qualitative methods of research. On the basis of acquired results, the appropriate work-life balance measures have been proposed into the strategy of selected company.

The topic of the bachelor's thesis is diversity management in the European Commission. The aim of the thesis is to investigate and assess the functioning of diversity management in the European Commission and, if necessary, propose measures for its improvement. The first part of the thesis focuses on basic concepts, issues in the field of diversity management, and areas closely related to it. The second part of the thesis is based on an interview with an employee of the European Commission and quantitative research conducted through a questionnaire survey. A total of 112 employees of the European Commission filled out the questionnaire. Finally, after evaluating the collected data, suggestions and possible recommendations for better and more efficient functioning of diversity management in the European Commission follow.

This bachelor´s thesis is focused on the area of educating older employees about digital technologies within a company. The first part theoretically explains age structure of employees in the labour market, motivation for development of older employees, level of their digital skills and the need for implementation of age management in a company to raise the quality of a workplace. This thesis identi-fies the impacts of the arising fourth industrial revolution and their effects on a workplace. Weaknesses of age management and digital education within a chosen company will be described in the following analytical part based on the theoretical findings.

The work is aimed at solving the problem of managing the interculturally diverse groups of AT&T employees. The course is structured around research questions about the ways AT&T has for managing foreign workers. The objectives of the thesis are to improve interaction and communication in the workplace in a multicultural environment and to develop the potential of these teams. The bachelor thesis uses Hofstede's dimensions, through which the main results of the work are identified. This is followed by a review of the collected results, a comparison of the strengths and weaknesses of the organization, and then recommendations for improving the management of the company.
Psychological and social attributes of supported employment regarding employers and employees of companies where it is provided

Supported Employment is one of the main tools of active labour market policies for the people who are disadvantaged or with disabilities. It aims to aid people are disadvantaged when finding employment themselves, provides assistance when looking for and choosing the right employment and with preparations for its execution, facilitation of the first contact with employer and colleagues, and ongoing support not only to the person with disability, but also to his colleagues and superiors who will be in contact with him. The thesis focuses on the issue of supported employment and its relation to diversity management, which covers the topic of management of employing the minorities and disadvantaged groups. From this perspective the thesis discusses the attitudes and prejudices, that often pose a barier to supported employment and effective interaction of people with disabilities and without. Research aims to explore these attitudes and to explore the support, that employers and employees working in the companies there the supported employment takes place are provided. The hypotheses stating there would be a difference in attitudes toward people with disabilities and toward organizational diversity between the research and the control group, were not confirmed.
